First 3D Explosive Barrel and a Bridge to Your Heart <3

Welcome to my first DevLog for KIT207 Portfolio!

As a prequisite of this unit, I will be posting a weekly update on my progress from this point forwards, and at the end of the lesson, I will be working with a few other classmates on a complete game product for a group project. I need to acquire some fundamental skills in order to accomplish that objective, and learning Blender is the very first step in that direction.

This DevLog was supposed to be posted last week but it was not due to some unforeseen circumstances (i.e. my CPU died.... hard). Additionally, I was unable to attend the first tutorial as a result of a scheduling clash, so it was a poor management on my side.

Truthfully, I am a shut-in myself so I do not go out quite often. On the other hand, during the past year or two I had the opportunity to go to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Garden, and the Red Bridge on the Japanese Terrace left a big impression on me.

So I decided to make a replica of it for my own. The tutorial resources are great to be fair but it takes a significant amount of time to learn from the official Blender channel, which is why I opted for a crash course on Youtube instead. In point of fact, Blender Forbeg is an excellent place to begin. Although the channel owner did not talk too much, you can watch his workflow and pick up a tremendous deal of information on Blender's shortcuts and hotkeys (www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhY5YqAi4vg). And down here is my final design.

After finishing the bridge, I gave it a shot at created a barrel from tutorial class and to my big surprise, it was not as hard as I thought. Here is the link to the wooden texture on the barrel: https://www.pexels.com/photo/brown-parquet-172276/

I will soon post my second DevLog after this one so please give it a look if you have some free time.

Have a Very Great Day!
