They See Me Walkin... They Wavin~~~


Here comes the Third DevLog!

Hello once again! My project is moving along pretty steadily now, and the Golem companion has been brought into Unity. The first tutorial's prerequisite, which called for me to bring a free model from an outside source into the project, completely slipped my memory for some reasons. So the 3D Tree model that was created by mozhdeh parizi has been added to the scene, and you can get it from here: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-tree01-1897840

The tutorial from last week requires me to create a door which would disappear as soon as my character get near. But really, who in the world would place a door anywhere, much alone in the centre of a garden? Because of this, I have included into the garden a virus model that was made by nahdlc on Turbosquid. This virus will serve as the garden's enemy, and anytime the Golem comes close to it, it will be destroyed. You can download the virus model from this link: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-wuhan-coronavirus-1500475


My Golem has a basic movement script along with some animations that I made in Blender. A speed condition was implemented to the idle-to-walking transition and if there are any changes in movement speed, the walking animation will be triggered. Additionally, the Golem will wave at the virus whenever SPACE BAR is pressed. Ha! To your face viruses!
